Accounting Clerk
Alltech Automotive LLC., a dynamic global tier 1 automotive supplier, is seeking an accounting clerk to support our Mundelein, IL location. They would have global responsibility for business development, product and process development covering manufacturing and sales on brakes, suspension and steering applications in the Car and Light Commercial Vehicle Industry. Alltech has a global structure covering Sales all over the World as well as Manufacturing facilities in Asia.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Timely processing of vendor invoices, expense vouchers and maintaining accurate records and control reports in accordance with good accounting practices and company policies.
2. Ensuring that company’s vendor invoices are properly administered. Ensuring accuracy in daily invoices and meeting time limits and deadlines.
3. Review applicable accounting reports and accounts payable register to ensure accuracy.
4. Ensure that all accounts payable functions are performed in accordance with the company’s internal control procedures and policies.
5. Support sales and operations staff and respond to financial questions and concerns to meet business needs.
- Maintain accurate accounts payable vendor files.
- Support month-end closings and prepare general ledger account analysis.
- Distribute payments promptly to take advantage of payment discounts where applicable.
9. Perform daily cash application which will include debiting balances back onto customer accounts for deductions taken.
10. Analyze debit balances on customer accounts for legitimacy.
11. Analyze deductions and engage customers to determine if credits are legitimate and valid.
12. Post credit memos to customer accounts.
13. Research shortages, damages, etc.
14. Maintain and update the general ledger by recording financial transactions accurately.
15. Heavy use of Excel and Outlook.
16. Cross training, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Accounting Degree in Accounting preferred.
2. 1-2 years of overall accounts Payable and Receivable experience but not a must.
SKILLS
1. Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles and accounting software.
2. Proven experience in accounting or finance roles is preferred, with a focus on general ledger accounting.
3. Must have large ERP accounts receivable system experience.
4. Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with customers.
5. Professional demeanor and positive attitude along with a great work ethic with the ability to multi-task. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment in a multi-person department.
6. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
7. Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
8. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
