Description
The Accounting Clerk will ensure complete and systematic accounting records of receipts and disbursements within the organization by performing a variety of complex clerical and bookkeeping tasks and applying GAAP procedures in preparing and maintaining accounting records.
Role and Responsibilities
- Conducts routine data entry management for accounting records, including accounts payable, billing, accounts receivable, cash management and P&L and Balance sheet entries.
- Reviews billing statements, invoices, and similar documents for accuracy; alerts supervisory staff of any discrepancies.
- Distributes accounting reports, as directed.
- Prepares financial reports and various accounting statements.
- Posts journal entries to general ledger.
- Generates summary sheets to be used by supervisor or auditor.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3 years of accounting experience
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
- Highly proficient with accounting software such as Syspro
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
