Position Title : Tower Permitting Specialist
Location : Canonsburg, PA / Houston, TX / Downers Grove, IL (Hybrid : Work from home on Monday and Friday, in the office Tuesday-Thursday)
Travel : Less than 5% (local travel only, mileage covered)
Job Overview :
The Tower Permitting Specialist is responsible for handling the preparation and submission of permits and entitlement applications for communications facilities, including towers, poles, and fiber infrastructure. The role requires working with local governments, understanding municipal codes, and ensuring that projects meet all zoning and permitting requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare and submit zoning and permitting applications.
- Work with the design team to create permit drawings and construction documents.
- Review jurisdictional requirements and negotiate as needed.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders.
- Manage permitting tasks, ensuring timelines and processes are followed.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on state and local telecommunication codes, including federal laws like 6409(a).
- Represent the company in municipal meetings and ensure all zoning approvals are secured.
- Handle communication with legal teams for complex permitting issues.
- Work with external vendors, if necessary, and manage permit fees.
