Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage the plant operations team, ensuring smooth daily operations and maintenance of all systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other essential building functions.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Oversee the implementation and adherence to healthcare-specific regulations and codes, ensuring all facility systems comply with state and federal standards.
- Preventive Maintenance:
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs for all building systems and equipment.
- Facility Upgrades and Repairs:
- Coordinate and supervise facility repairs, upgrades, and renovations as needed, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Emergency Response:
- Maintain an effective emergency response plan for facility-related incidents, including power outages, natural disasters, and equipment failures.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical departments to support their facility needs and provide a safe and functional environment.
- Budget Management:
- Prepare and manage the budget for plant operations and maintenance, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Staff Development:
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to the facilities/maintenance team to ensure high standards of work performance and safety.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a related field (e.g., Facilities Management, Engineering, Healthcare Administration).
- At least 5 years of leadership experience in a plant operations or facilities management role, ideally in a healthcare setting.
- Strong familiarity with healthcare-specific regulations and codes (e.g., Joint Commission, NFPA, local and state building codes).
- Proven experience managing and leading a facilities/maintenance team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Nice-to-Haves
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and patient care systems.
- Experience in overseeing or managing construction or renovation projects within a healthcare environment.
- Certification in Healthcare Facilities Management (CHFM) or Facilities Management Professional (FMP).
