Position Overview :

The Membership Director is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and execution of membership strategies that align with the agency's mission and goals. This position supervises the Membership and Fitness Welcome Desk staff while focusing on enhancing member satisfaction, increasing membership units, improving operational processes, and fostering a strong sense of community.

Key Responsibilities :

Leadership and Team Management :

  • Hire, train, motivate, and evaluate Membership and Welcome Desk staff, ensuring performance standards are met.
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings and ad hoc meetings as needed.
  • Provide leadership and support to Fitness employees in the Fitness Director’s absence.

Membership Operations :

  • Oversee the Membership Department’s day-to-day operations, including the Welcome Desk.
  • Manage membership account processes, including financial adjustments, renewals, and member demographics.
  • Monitor financial health through profit and loss reviews and collaborate with the COO and CFO on budgeting.

    • Sales and Growth :

  • Lead initiatives to increase membership enrollment and agency revenue through sales, retention, and corporate partnerships.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain members across various market segments.
  • Achieve monthly personal and team membership sales goals.

    • Member Engagement and Events :

  • Develop value-added member benefits and organize community-building programs, events, and networking opportunities.
  • Spearhead events such as Full Moon Yoga and Yoga Fest while collaborating with the Fitness Director on fitness-related events.

    • Reporting and Strategy :

  • Collect and analyze key metrics to inform data-driven decisions.
  • Present findings using reports, charts, and graphs to guide strategic initiatives.

    • Additional Responsibilities :

  • Serve as Manager on Duty as needed.
  • Work closely with lay committees to develop and evaluate membership and fitness programs.

    • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, plus prior sales experience (preferred).
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a team.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management.

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to walk long distances during campus tours.
  • Comfort working in a variety of postures, including standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Perform repetitive movements with hands or wrists (e.g., typing, sorting).
