Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in the company’s financial operations, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, analysis, and planning which are necessary for effective decision-making. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of accounting experience and a strong understanding of accounting principles. This position is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and reports.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
- Month-end and Year-end Close: Perform close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals. Coordinate with departments for timely reporting.
- Tax compliance: Complete sales and other tax returns. Prepare information for tax filings and stay updated on tax laws.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts, monitor and explain variances.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct analysis to support decision-making, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Payroll: Process payroll updates and assist with accounts payable and receivable.
- Internal Controls: Maintain and enhance controls to safeguard assets and ensure policy compliance.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements and best practices.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
- 2-4 years of progressive experience in financial management, accounting, or related roles.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools.
- Interpersonal skills with experience in process change.
- In-depth knowledge of financial principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office, financial software, ERP systems, and payroll systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, NetSuite, Paylocity, Paychex).
