What are the responsibilities and job description for the Alpha Data Solutions Manager and Analyst position at Alpha International?
Role purposeOver the past 30 years, 28 million people have been invited to discover and develop a personal relationship with Jesus through Alpha. By 2033 we aim to see this number grow exponentially to 100 million and have developed ambitious plans to make this possible. To achieve this vision, we are launching an exciting and audacious global fundraising campaign to raise $309m over the next 5 years to be invested in the global ministry of Alpha. To enable success of the campaign and build more sustainable fundraising, building capacity in our FD operations is priority, designing and implementing a Salesforce platform to act as our CRM database, which will facilitate fundraising activities through integrated platforms for online giving, donor communications, event management, donor stewardship and grant management.
The Data Solutions Manager and Analyst is a global role of strategic importance, and is central to Alpha's success in designing, implementing and developing operational systems that will support and sustain the growth of Alpha's global income through diverse revenue streams
The Data Solutions Manager and Analyst will collaborate with the global Salesforce team to design solutions, deliver functionality & reporting to support Alpha’s Global Fundraising strategy.
By driving cross-functional collaboration and developing scalable reporting solutions, this role ensures that Alpha leverages data as a strategic asset for growth and achieving our goals.
They will deliver regular, strategic reporting and analysis for key areas, including the income pipeline (forecasting), results (gift income) and fundraising performance, to equip Alpha’s global fundraising and executive leadership with strategic information for management decisions and strategy development, impacting the whole organisation.
They will take a lead role in the development of analytics frameworks that enable accurate forecasting, donor insights, and fundraising performance evaluation.
Role
With a good understanding of Fundraising practices and donor cultivation, they will play a pivotal role in the development, design and implementation of robust data architectures that facilitate Global Fundraising reporting and analytics, seamless integration with product platforms, efficient data management, and allow insightful analytics to be developed. - Design, implement and publish comprehensive dashboards in Salesforce and CRM Analytics that evaluate and report strategic management information related to fundraising pipelines, gift income and fundraising performance (KPI’s)
- Co-ordinate globally with regional fundraising teams for accurate aligned pipeline, income and cashflow forecasting
- Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising strategies and campaigns to inform strategic decision making
- Lead in the design and development of new global analytical and reporting systems within Salesforce to evaluate and report on fundraising performance and donor engagement, including analysis designed for major donor audiences through a new donor facing portal
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyse business requirements, translating them into effective data solutions and business processes to support leadership in achieving fundraising goals
- Design and implement business processes that enhance data integrity, and accessibility.
- Actively seek data insights for tailored fundraising activity, moves management and donor communications
- Effectively communicating business analysis insights and plans to cross-functional team members and team management.
- Develop and maintain scalable data structures that align with organisational goals and support advanced analytics and reporting capabilities.
- Manage cross-team collaboration between various departments, including Fund Development, Finance, and systems team, to ensure cohesive data strategies and solutions.
- Collaborate on the integration of data sources and external platforms into the FD CRM system.
- Develop and manage ETL (extract, transform, load) processes to ensure efficient data transformations needed for reporting.

- A passion for the vision of Alpha International
- Minimum 3 years’ professional experience in Data Analytics, Data Engineering and Data Science
- Demonstratable recent experience in a business analysis role
- Strong technical aptitude with proven experience in the cycle of integrating data platforms, including building out, optimising and managing data integrations
- Working knowledge and understanding of Salesforce and the Salesforce data model
- Experience in designing and implementing scalable data structures to support analytics, reporting and data insights
- Proficiency in SQL, SAQL or other scripting languages for data manipulation, data modelling, Salesforce CRM Analytics and Salesforce Reports
- Ability to develop dataflows and data recipes within Salesforce CRM Analytics
- Proven record of designing and implementing KPIs and data visualisation tools to drive strategic insights
- Accountability for the quality and success of the data solutions
- Scripting expertise to automate routine processes and data quality checks
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to develop business processes and predictive analytics frameworks for future fundraising and donor engagements strategies
