Job Description:
The Desktop Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support for the organization’s desktop systems, including troubleshooting, software installation, and hardware maintenance. This role works closely with IT teams to ensure smooth operations of end-user devices and corporate applications. The specialist will be required to work with various departments to resolve technical issues and provide solutions to ensure productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on support for Windows and macOS desktop environments, troubleshooting system and application issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain corporate software applications, including Microsoft Office, third-party tools, and enterprise applications.
- Assist with managing user accounts, group policies, and security settings in Active Directory.
- Coordinate with multiple IT teams to resolve technical incidents and execute change tickets in accordance with business requirements.
- Perform hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting on desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices (printers, scanners, etc.).
- Assist in the deployment and configuration of new desktop devices and operating system upgrades.
- Ensure timely resolution of technical issues while maintaining a high level of customer service and user satisfaction.
- Maintain system documentation, including hardware and software inventories, installation guides, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Support remote desktop users and troubleshoot VPN and remote access issues.
- Keep up-to-date with new technology trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve desktop support efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in desktop support or technical support roles.
- Proficient in supporting Microsoft Windows (Win 7/10) and macOS environments.
- Basic understanding of Active Directory management, Group Policy Objects (GPO), and user account administration.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for desktop systems, applications, and peripheral devices.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure components such as servers, networking devices, and cloud services.
- Experience with remote desktop support tools and troubleshooting techniques.
- Good understanding of corporate software, including enterprise applications and Microsoft products.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with end-users.
Preferred Skills:
- IT certifications such as CompTIA A , ITIL, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) are a plus.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies like VMware or Citrix.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
