Alphanumeric is hiring a BENCH SCIENTIST to work in Collegeville, PA with our client of 20 years committed to improving lives through medical and pharmaceutical advancements.
We are seeking to hire a highly motivated biologist to fill a CW position in the Respiratory & Immunology Biology Unit (RIBU) within RIRU at the company R&D in Upper Providence, PA. The successful candidate will be part of a team to differentiate and characterize cellular models derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), and to perform genetic perturbations (KD, KO, KI, overexpression) in iPSC-derived cells for drug discovery applications :
- Maintain iPSC cell culture, perform differentiate and QC characterization in supporting assay development and translational studies.
- Perform detection of biomarker changes using various assay methods, such as ELISA, Western, imaging, RT-PCR.
- Utilize various transfection / transduction methods to knockdwon or overexpress target genes in differentiated cells.
- Analyze and summarize experimental data using a variety of laboratory instrumentation and computer softwares.
- Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks according to company guidelines, and present data to colleagues or in team meetings.

The candidate will be expected to maintain accurate and organized records and to prepare archiving documents. Has theoretical and practical scientific knowledge in biological sciences equivalent to a BS degree with hands on laboratory experience. A Preferred candidate will have knowledge of molecular biology techniques including microbial cell culture, plasmid DNA purification, DNA subcloning, restriction enzyme analysis, DNA sequencing, expression plasmid construction and experience in the use of molecular biology design software (Lasergene, Clonemanager, and Vector NTI).
