What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Staff position at Alpine Art Center?
Event Server Team Member:
As a member of the Alpine Art Center Events Team, you will assist the Caterer and Event Host to produce a smooth and well executed guest experience.
Events are typically on weekends, though there are events that occur on the weekdays. Venue is closed on Sundays. Employees are required to work through event and reset afterwards (can go as late as 1am).
Event and Catering Team Member Job Responsibilities:
- Create a positive and memorable experience to clients and guests at the venue.
- Ensure cleanliness in and around the venue.
- Set-up and breaks down chairs, tables, and buffet areas.
- Accomplishes all job duties while adhering to all safety guidelines and practices throughout the shift.
- Other duties as assigned by the Event Director.
Event Staff Shift Responsibilities:
Event Set-up (Mornings and Early Afternoons)
- Sets up chairs, tables, and buffet.
- Sets up buffet area to effectively serve all food products.
- Maintain garden areas before setting-up ceremonies.
- Assist Event Host as needed.
Catering/Serving
- Assists the kitchen and service staff as needed to maintain the highest level of food quality, presentation, and timing to optimize guests dining experience.
- Loads and unloads plates, silverware, and other service equipment from dishwashing area.
- Serves courses, clears dishware, and ensure that guests dining needs are taken care of.
- Keeps serving stations restocked throughout the event.
- Cleans buffet stations, kitchen, bathrooms and other event areas of the building.
- Maintains guest tables and serving stations according to client specifications and procedures.
- Assists other catering staff as needed to optimize the guests’ dining experience.
Event Reset (Evenings)
- Work as a team to reset the venue for the next event.
- Decorate to client’s needs and specifications.
- Correctly completes closing duties at the end of each event.
- Packs client to-go boxes before send-off/end of event.
- Cleans bride and groom’s rooms, venue, bathrooms and other event areas of the building.
General Qualifications:
- Positive and self-starter attitude.
- Ability to work and communicate with a variety of people of different skill levels and varied backgrounds.
- Ability to effectively handle many tasks at once in a fast-paced work environment.
- Thoroughness, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Proactive with assigned tasks.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and late evenings.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Must be 16 years old.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Current food handler’s permit.
