We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sanitation Supervisor to oversee the cleanliness and sanitation operations within our organization. As a Sanitation Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a team of sanitation workers, ensuring compliance with hygiene standards, and maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment. Your expertise in sanitation procedures, strong leadership skills, and attention to detail will be crucial in upholding high cleanliness standards and promoting a healthy atmosphere. The Sanitation Supervisor will assist in delivering training, maintain and educate employees on plant-wide sanitation practices and procedures that comply with regulatory and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) requirements to ensure food safety.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of sanitation workers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure effective performance and adherence to sanitation protocols.
- Develop and implement sanitation schedules and procedures, including cleaning and disinfecting, to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Inspect facilities regularly to identify areas that require cleaning or improvement, ensuring compliance with sanitation regulations and standards.
- Coordinate with other departments to schedule cleaning activities based on operational needs, production schedules, and facility usage.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and coordinate with vendors to ensure an adequate supply of sanitation products.
- Oversee the proper handling and disposal of waste materials.
- Train employees on proper sanitation practices, including the use of cleaning agents, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to evaluate the effectiveness of sanitation procedures and identify areas for improvement.
- Investigate and resolve sanitation-related issues, such as mold growth, and or contamination incidents, taking appropriate corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of sanitation activities, including cleaning schedules, inspection reports, and training documentation.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, sanitation regulations, and emerging trends in hygiene and sanitation management.
- Collaborate with quality control and safety teams to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a hygienic working environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in food safety, sanitation, or a related field is required. Associate’s and or Bachelor Degree in food safety, business, quality or related preferred.
- Proven experience as a Sanitation Supervisor or a similar role, preferably in a food processing, manufacturing, or healthcare environment.
- In-depth knowledge of sanitation procedures, cleaning techniques, and chemical usage, with a focus on maintaining hygiene and safety standards.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a diverse workforce.
- Familiarity with relevant sanitation regulations, such as FDA, OSHA, or HACCP guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to train and educate employees on sanitation practices. Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems related to sanitation and cleanliness effectively.
- Proficiency in using computer applications, such as spreadsheets or database software, for record-keeping and reporting.
- Flexibility to work outside regular business hours or be on call for urgent sanitation needs or emergencies
Hours:
- 10 hour shifts (7pm-5am)
- Monday- Thursday with Friday and Saturdays as required
