Job Summary: People are our most important asset and the Director will be the one to ensure we have a happy and productive workplace where everyone works to realize our established mission and objectives. Oversees all Human Resource initiatives, systems and tactics. Responsible for planning, coordination, managing, and directing activities and programs relating to the recruitment, hiring, orientation and development of Visiting Angels employees. Promotes corporate values and shapes a positive culture.
General Duties:
 
  • Responsible for development of Human Resource strategies and providing sound advice to senior management on all related topics.
  • In consultation with the CEO or Director ensures compliance with state, federal, and other applicable human resource regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with USIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audits Forms I-9. 
  • Develops and maintains corporate plans for the company including but not limited to compensation, benefits, retirement, employee motivation, health and safety.
  • Manages all facets of benefit programs including reporting requirements and maintaining a competitive plan. In collaboration with the Administrator will annually review and shop for benefit plans.
  • Monitors employee eligibility for benefit plans.  Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communication of benefits information to employees.  Organizes and manages open enrollment communications and election process.   Administers COBRA for group health plans. 
  • Directs the implementation of improved work methods and procedures to ensure employees are recruited, hired, oriented, and terminated in accordance with policy. Monitors adherence to internal policies and legal standards. Manages grievances and violations invoking disciplinary action when required.
  • Works with the management team to identify recruitment needs and develops a recruitment plan designed to fill demand.
  • Collects, analyzes and reports to senior management using HR metrics.
  • Oversees and supports the work of the Human Resources personnel by providing education, motivation and guidance.
  • Coordinating with Human resource personnel, schedules and participates in community awareness and recruitment activities such as job fairs and other community events.
  • Builds and monitors community perception of Visiting Angels as a high quality employer.
  • Works with the management team in identifying employee education needs and develops orientation and continuing education programs for employees.
  • Maintains employment files in accordance with Department of Health, state, federal, and local regulations.
Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred. Minimum high school graduate.  Has at least three years experience in health care management preferably in private duty operations. Two years experience in employee recruitment and training preferred.  Has knowledge of state, federal, and other applicable regulations relating to employment and employee education. Must have strong computer skills, strong customer service and effective communication skills.  Must have good recall, be articulate, and able to organize detail.  Must exhibit friendly, pleasant and calm, congenial, and a professional attitude in all daily activities. Must have the ability to prioritize and work well independently.  Must be flexible regarding workdays and hours.
