Responsibilities:
We are looking for a skilled Accounting Clerk to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks. The Accounting Clerk responsibilities include maintaining and processing agent commissions, researching and answering agent inquiries concerning commissions, assisting to keep financial records updated, preparing reports, reconciling bank statements and recording basic accounting transactions. You will run accounting software programs to process commission and business transactions, including Quickbooks. A successful Accounting Clerk should be familiar with basic accounting procedures and have a strong attention to detail mentality.
Responsibilities
- Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department with a primary focus on managing the company's commission distribution process
- Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
- Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
- Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
- Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database
- Provide assistance and support to company personnel
- Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
- Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas
- Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
- Constantly update job knowledge
Skills
- Proven accounting experience
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
- Competency in MS Office and accounting software
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers
- Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
- Data entry and word processing skills
- Ability to interact with agents to address inquiries with a "customer service" mindset
- Well organized
- Associate’s degree in accounting or relevant certification is a plus
