The Host is the restaurant's first impression and sets the tone for guests' experiences. You will answer phones, take reservations, and seat guests. The Host is also responsible for wishing guests farewell and inviting them to return.

Our Ideal Candidate:
- Previous Host experience at a high-end premium restaurant or establishment
- Strong people skills to engage positively with management, staff, members, and the public.
- Experience with Tock, Toast, and Wine Direct is preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking capabilities.
- Ability to manage stress and maintain composure.
- Problem-solving aptitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
- Maintains an efficient and courteous restaurant operation by greeting arriving customers, seating, establishing rapport, and assisting with restaurant service.
- Seat guests and manage special requests consistently with table seating guidelines and availability.
- Maintain a prominent appearance in the restaurant during the entire shift by remaining at the retail/cashier station and periodically circulating through the restaurant to assist servers, respond to any customer requests, and assess the efficiency of the operation for management.
- Maintains a clean and attractive restaurant by assisting with vacuuming, sweeping, general cleaning, and side work duties.
- Check the proper set-up of tables and seating before opening.
- Exhibits a professional appearance and always maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor.
- Manage the wait list: record guest names and numbers at parties, provide estimated waiting time, answer phones, and manage the restaurant reservation system.
- Inspect tables for proper presentation and completeness.
- Protect establishments and guests by following sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
- Keep kitchen staff informed by noting the timing of meal progression.
- Respond to additional patron requirements by inquiring about needs and observing the dining process.
- Concludes dining experience by acknowledging the choice of restaurant and inviting guests to return.
- Maintain sanitation and cleanliness per Amaterra and Oregon state health guidelines.
- Performs general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products assigned by the supervisor to adhere to health standards.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested, e.g., special guest requests.
