As a Data Center Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of multiple data centers during the day shift. Your responsibilities will include prioritizing and assigning trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators, coordinating change management resources, guiding and training data staff on best practices, managing mid-size projects, and recommending policies and procedures to meet industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Some high-level responsibilities include:
* Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators
* Routinely review ticket queue for large events and address accordingly
* Coordinate change management resources
* Guide, train and educate data staff on best practices related to all service owner issues
* Manage and deliver mid-size projects
* Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and to meet required SLAs
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. You should also have at least 2 years of experience managing people in a technical environment, 3 years of networking experience with knowledge of cabling best practices, and 3 years of experience with hardware architectures and troubleshooting. Additionally, you should have experience with system management tools and client/server environments. While not required, data center experience and project management skills would be beneficial.
