Technical Designer Position
The Technical Designer plays a crucial role in creating accurate and detailed technical drawings and plans for various interior design projects.
This position requires expertise in CAD software, understanding of interior design principles, and strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed technical drawings and plans for interior design projects.
- Place drawings in project files, update layers, and set up page layouts.
- Keep backgrounds up-to-date as plan sets are adjusted during weekly design meetings.
- Create interior plan sets, including reflected ceiling plans, furniture and power plans, finish plans, and interior elevations.
- Advise on furniture selections and create custom furniture drawings.
- Translate designs into elevations, adding details such as base, casing, wall treatments, ceiling treatments, millwork, lighting, plumbing, etc.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and InDesign.
- Proven work experience as a CAD Designer in an interior design firm.
- Strong understanding of interior design principles, space planning, and construction documentation.
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, ADA, and industry standards related to interior design.
- Ability to create accurate and detailed technical drawings and plans.
- Familiarity with materials, finishes, and furnishings commonly used in interior design.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with designers, architects, and project stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve design and technical issues.
- 3D rendering experience is a plus.
