Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, driven, and highly motivated Technical Sales Representative to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for selling a range of decentralized wastewater treatment products and solutions, including septic tanks, precast products, sewer and drain pipe, and other related products. You will work closely with management, manufacturing, technical teams, and customers to provide tailored solutions that meet their needs.
Key Responsibilities:
· Sales & Business Development:
Act as the primary point of contact for new and existing customers, handling sales inquiries and providing proposals for wastewater and precast projects.
· Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers, including homeowners, contractors, engineers, municipalities, and developers.
· Conduct assessments to understand client needs and recommend appropriate decentralized wastewater treatment product solutions.
· Provide technical guidance and support to customers throughout the sales process.
· Prepare and present product presentations, proposals, and quotes.
· Assist in product selection and system design based on project specifications.
· Collaborate with the engineering, manufacturing, and delivery teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products and solutions.
· Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and product innovations to provide expert-level advice to customers.
· Drive sales growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the wastewater treatment and precast product sectors.
· Collaborate with Engineers and Designers to create brand and product awareness.
· Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to expand the company’s presence in the market.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field or a minimum of 3 years of experience working in water supply, construction supply or industrial distribution.
- Proven experience in outside, face to face sales, preferably in the wastewater treatment, precast concrete, wholesale supply, or construction sectors.
- Strong understanding of decentralized wastewater (septic) systems, septic tanks, sewer and drain products, or related technologies.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build lasting relationships with clients.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a consultative sales approach.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Computer literate.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with reading engineered plans and specifications.
- Knowledge of local and state regulations regarding wastewater (septic) systems.
- Previous experience with septic systems, precast concrete products.
- Experience working in construction supply or industrial distribution.
- Prior experience working with general contractors.
