Help Drive Financial Accuracy and Operational Excellence
At America’s Car-Mart, we’re passionate about helping customers, supporting our communities, and growing strong, values-driven teams. We're currently looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our corporate Accounting team. In this role, you’ll support the Controller and broader finance team by ensuring accurate financial reporting, assisting with monthly close activities, and handling a variety of operational accounting tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly accounting entries and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Analyze and calculate deferred revenue and other accounting estimates
- Compile lot income statements and assist with other internal financial reporting
- Complete end-of-month checklists and ensure all workpapers are finalized on time
- Act as a backup for the General Ledger Manager as needed
- Provide support to dealership locations with accounting-related inquiries
- Administer the Bank of America P-card program and Visa prepaid program
- Assist with personal property tax filings and estimated tax payment processing
- Review expenses monthly and analyze surplus/deficiencies on repossessions
- Support special projects for the Controller, GL Manager, or Principal Accounting Officer
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures
- Demonstrate high ethical standards and a commitment to accuracy and timeliness
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 1–2 years of accounting experience preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
