What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry Level Estimator position at America's Floor Source?
America's Floor Source, one of the nation's largest flooring companies, is expanding our estimating team and has an immediate opening for a full-time Estimator for its Columbus, Ohio location.
The ideal candidate will be an organized and detail-oriented individual, who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high production environment. The candidate must be able to multi-task, work individually and as part of a team. Knowledge of the flooring or construction industry, and experience using estimating software or RFMS data systems is a plus, but not required. All training will be provided.
This is not a remote or work from home position. This is an in-office position only.
Primary Duties Include:
- Interpret and analyze blueprints and project manual specifications, in order to provide detailed proposals, and provide accurate bid packages for multi-family projects.
- Utilizing measure program software, create accurate estimations from the blueprints and specifications, to provide sales team with required take-off information.
- Identify omissions and inaccuracies in plans, work with General Contractors to verify discrepancies within plans, to ensure accurate estimations are created. Adjust existing project estimations when revisions or changes are provided.
- Identify cost saving opportunities where applicable, work with suppliers to obtain quotes on projects. Analyzing costs for material and labor based on construction documents, descriptions of work from sales staff, schematic drawings and specifications.
- Assist with project installation scheduling and create material workorders as needed.
- Create and send submittals per project specifications/contracted projects to clients as needed.
- Estimate, create cost quotes and prepare change orders as needed.
Skills & Requirements:
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet project deadlines.
- Exceptional written and communication skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Experience in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Able to interpret Architectural Plans and provide Material Estimations.
- Experience in Flooring/Construction Estimating (Preferred).
- Experience is RFMS & RFMS Measure (Preferred).
Compensation
- Salary will be based on knowledge and experience.
