Position Purpose and Objectives
America's Thrift Stores is seeking a passionate and results-driven Donation Growth Specialist to spearhead our donation drive efforts. This unique role is dedicated to promoting the easiest and most impactful fundraiser for a wide range of groups and causes including PTAs, PTOs, grade schools, Scout troops, sports teams, cheer squads, 4-H clubs, churches, large corporations, universities and other organizations. Our mission extends beyond fundraising; we aim to make a significant environmental impact by keeping clothing out of landfills and providing them with a second chance. In partnership with regionally specific children’s and addiction recovery charities, such as Make-A-Wish Alabama and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, we offer a dual benefit by paying groups for every pound of donations collected and contributing an additional donation for every pound to our charity partners. The goal of this position is to grow, solicit, and engage new donation drives, aiming to increase our donations by 1.5 million pounds annually.
Roles and Responsibilities
Drive Engagement: Actively seek out and engage with various groups and organizations to participate in our donation drive program. This includes schools, Scout troops, sports teams, and any group looking to fundraise.
Partnership Development: Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective partners, including our charity partners, to enhance the impact of our donation drives.
Strategy and Planning: Create and implement strategic plans to increase the number of donation drives, with a specific annual goal of increasing donations by 1.5 million pounds.
Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team to promote donation drives through various channels, ensuring that the value proposition is clearly communicated to potential participants.
Event Coordination: Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the donation drive events, ensuring they run smoothly and effectively collect donations.
Performance Tracking: Monitor and track the success of donation drives, including pounds collected and funds raised for both groups and charity partners. Utilize this data to inform future strategies and improve the program.
Environmental Impact: Promote the environmental benefits of participating in the donation drive program, highlighting the importance of giving clothing a second chance and reducing landfill waste.
Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate with all stakeholders, including participating groups, charity partners, and internal teams, to ensure alignment and maximize the impact of each donation drive.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Environmental Studies, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
Proven experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, or a related field, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a wide range of stakeholders.
Excellent organizational, time management and event planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
A passion for environmental sustainability and community service.
Ability to analyze data and use insights to drive decision-making.
Willingness to travel as needed to support donation drives and meet with partners.
Valid Class D Driver’s License and Clean MVR.
Must be self-motivated with a high degree of personal integrity and honesty.

Physical Demands:
Occasionally - Carrying up to 50 lbs., pushing and pulling up to 25 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs.

Continuously - Sitting for extended periods while maintaining focus and productivity. Awareness of proper posture and ergonomics to prevent strain from prolonged computer use.
Other:
Mostly regular hours, occasionally working weekends, evenings and holiday hours as needed.
Working environment includes inside of building with controlled temperatures.
