Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Manager to join our team at AMAC. The Fabrication Manager will play a pivotal role in leading our fabrication department, overseeing all aspects of manufacturing, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products. This position offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in fabrication management, optimize production processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead and manage the fabrication department including fabricators and support personnel.
· Develop and implement strategic plans, goals, and objectives to optimize fabrication processes, enhance efficiency, and meet production targets.
· Collaborate with engineering and production teams to translate design specifications into manufacturable components, ensuring alignment with quality standards and project timelines.
· Establish and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and quality control measures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
· Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, workflow optimization, and implement solutions to drive operational excellence.
· Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), track production metrics, and analyze data to identify trends, address issues, and drive performance improvements.
· Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous learning within the fabrication department, promoting employee engagement, development, and growth opportunities.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field is preferred. Equivalent experience in the heavy fabrication industry will be considered.
· Expert at reading and communicating blue-print and technical drawings.
· 5 years of experience in fabrication management, preferably in the mining or heavy equipment industry.
· Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor a diverse team of professionals.
· Strong technical knowledge of fabrication processes, including welding, machining, forming, and assembly.
· Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficiency in MS Office applications.
