What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Intern position at American Petroleum Institute?
Job Summary
The Human Resources Intern will assist with the coordination and execution of various tasks and processes within the HR Department. They will work with the HR Team on daily tasks, and special projects including compliance audits, employee onboarding, recruitment, offboarding, and maintenance of HR databases.
Projects May Include
- Assisting with reviewing and auditing compliance needs
- Supporting with recruiting; scheduling phone interviews, posting jobs, and pre-screening
- Assisting with auditing employee files in ADP and ensuring all are up-to-date and accurate
- Preparing email and paperwork for employee onboarding and offboarding
- Assisting with administrative support; data entry in the HRIS
- Aiding the execution of Learning and Development trainings: scheduling, invites, etc.
- Following up with staff to ensure that paperwork is returned in a timely and accurate manner
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
- Strong efficiency in MS Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Excellent organizational capability
- Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills
- Flexibility to work with changing priorities and adapt to new processes
- Ability to work effectively and act professionally with all staff levels
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
Physical Requirements
- Able to remain in a stationary position working on a computer
- Move about the office to access office machinery, meeting rooms, etc.
- Operate a computer and other office machinery such as printers and copy machines
- Transport items and equipment up to 25 lbs. on occasion
Travel Requirements
- Up to 25%
