American Plastics, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative plastic-injection molded products for the household & garage storage and commercial cleaning end-markets. We are searching for a Director of Human Resources-Operations. This position will report to the Vice President of Human Resources. This position is a remote position.
The Director of Benefits is a key strategic leader within the Human Resources team, responsible for shaping and executing the organization’s benefits. This role is not only focused on high-level strategic initiatives but also requires a hands-on approach to ensure operational excellence. As a working director, this individual will be expected to provide direct support and backup for all benefits processes, stepping in as needed to assist with or execute tasks typically handled by their team. This ensures that the Director remains deeply connected to the day-to-day operations while driving a long-term strategy.
Responsibilities for this position include:
Insurance Administration
· Manage renewal preparation utilizing broker
· Negotiates with vendor and broker
· Work with internal and external team to analyze plan options
· Review current plan design and make recommendations based on short term and long-term objectives
· Review market data, analysis and make suggestions to management team
· Complete employee contribution analysis as well as gross to net analysis
· Implementation to employees (communication both printed and verbal)
· Manage monthly enrollment
· Review and process bills
· Evaluates and establishes internal benefits processes
· High level of accuracy, timeliness and in all benefits processes
· Monthly tracking of claims review in addition to cost and contribution recovery
· Integration into HCM platform Paylocity
· COBRA management
· STD, LTD management
401k Administration
· Partnering with broker and 401k provider
· Manage open enrollment
· Oversee employee training throughout the year
· Facilitating Investment committee meetings
· Integration into HCM platform Paylocity
· Responsible for 401k compliance reporting
Additional Responsibilities
· Lead FMLA management
· Benefits related compliance (FMLA, ACA, as needed)
· Federal reporting (EEOC, vendors selling to government agencies, as needed by business)
· Unemployment reporting and hearings
Requirements:· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
· A broad understanding of corporate benefits plans and broker interaction
· Excellent analytical and organizational skills with the ability to maintain multiple projects
· Excellent communication skills
· Hands-on experience with Paylocity HRIS is highly desired
· Solid MS Office Skills: MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Technical Writing Skills
