Registered Radiology Assistant
Location: Boston, MA
Reports To: Operations Director
Salary Range: $116,000 - $140,000
Signing Bonus: Negotiable Signing Bonus
Relocation Package: Partial Relocation Package
Position Overview:
As a Registered Radiology Assistant (RRA), you’ll work under the direct supervision of attending radiologists to deliver advanced diagnostic imaging and interventional services. Your contributions will enhance patient care, optimize workflows, and support policy and quality improvements in our radiology department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform fluoroscopy exams, administer contrast media, and operate imaging equipment under radiologist supervision.
- Assist with specialized imaging and guided procedures (e.g., biopsies, drainages, myelography).
- Draft preliminary reports for review and finalization by radiologists.
- Assess patient histories, conduct evaluations, and obtain consents.
- Manage scheduling, protocol exams, and maintain imaging quality standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and provide training for new RRAs.
- Act as a liaison between referring services and radiologists, ensuring effective communication of findings.
- Support departmental programs and maintain imaging equipment/supplies.
Qualifications:
Education:
Master’s degree in Registered Radiologist Assistant/Health Sciences.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years in diagnostic radiology (e.g., fluoroscopy, CT, ultrasounds)
Licenses/Certifications:
- Registered/licensed RRA/RPA in Massachusetts
- Current BLS-CPR and ACLS certification
- Graduate of an ACR/ARRT-approved RA program
- Active ARRT and/or CBRPA registration
