American Stone is looking to hire an Accounts Receivable Clerk, as comfortable with numbers as with people. We are open to entry-level candidates with at least an associates degree. Working hybrid 2 days in-office, 3 days in home office is available

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MEMBER OF OUR ACCOUNTING TEAM
ACCOUNTING TEAM
As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you are key in designing, training, and enforcing credit and pricing policies with contractor B2B customers, wholesale dealers and internal employees. Your goal is to lower outstanding AR. Strive to improve your average days outstanding to collect on accounts receivable. Track your current record, and set goals. Improve that number month over month. Work with employees to help them collect on outstanding debts and avoid them in the future. You'll collect on bad debts from our accounting systems. Send out NOIs or pre-lein notices, submit claims to small claims court when necessary and according to the policy, and collect on judgements. You'll work with store managers to maintain daily bank reconciliations, and assist in minimizing cash over / short entries. You'll track performance and set goals for improvements. At certain times you may also assist the accounting department in other duties, such as payroll, accounts payable, and inter-company billing and receiving.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to meet physical requirements of the job, such as sitting for extended periods of time
Experience with accounting and / or database programs, such as Odoo, Peachtree, Excel, Access, Quicken, etc
An accounting degree is required, but experience and a high-scoring pre-interview assessment can substitute.
Ability to pass drug screening and background check.
Prior experience in collections is preferred, but not required
