Impact Investing Internship

American Student Assistance (ASA.org), a non-profit organization on a mission to help students know themselves, know their options, and make informed decisions to achieve their education and career goals. We fulfill our mission by providing tools and resources to students online, in classrooms, and through community-based organizations. ASA has an immediate opening for a Private Equity Internship on our growing Investment team.

The Private Equity internship will be responsible for having a high level of participation in lead identification, due diligence, and investment analysis.

Internship Candidates Must Have The Following

• An interest in and commitment to pursuing a career in Private equity/Impact investing
• A strong academic record
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Intellectual curiosity as well as excellent research and critical thinking skills
• Top-quality oral and written communication skills with an ability to synthesize large amounts of data and information in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment while also working autonomously
• Keen attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills, strong interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and technical savvy
• Conducting industry research to develop and test investment theses
• Conducting due diligence on investment opportunities
• Working with financial models, analyzing scenarios with different capital structures and operating performance of prospective transactions
• Developing presentation materials summarizing investment perspectives for investment committee
• Assisting with portfolio and Impact performance monitoring
