About the Role:
The Industrial Electrician, reporting to the Engineering department, plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and systems. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, including PLC controls, to optimize production processes. The successful candidate will troubleshoot electrical issues and implement solutions to minimize downtime and enhance productivity. Additionally, the Industrial Electrician will collaborate with other team members to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the overall success and reliability of manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, particularly with PLC controls, to ensure minimal disruption to production.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues remotely.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement electrical upgrades and improvements.
- With minimal direction, justify, source and purchase any required electrical/controls equipment.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing electrical work to maintain a safe working environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of an apprenticeship program in electrical work or equivalent experience.
- Valid electrical license or certification as required by local regulations.
- Demonstrated proficiency with the troubleshooting, installation and programming of PLC controls and related electrical systems.
- High school diploma/GED required
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- Due to the safety sensitivity in a wood processing manufacturing environment, Candidate must be a non-smoker.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with industrial automation and control systems specifically Allen Bradley.
- Additional certifications in electrical safety or advanced PLC programming.
- 2-year college degree or advanced PLC certification equivalents preferred.
