Summary / Objective :
The Electrical Journeyman will install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes. May install or service streetlights, intercom systems, or electrical control systems.
Essential Functions :
Tests electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of systemAssembles, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lampsWorks from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixturesInterprets blueprints, NEC, and specificationsAssembles, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power toolsConnects wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other componentsPerforms other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibility : No
Required :
2 - 5 years of experience in electrical field; or equivalent combination of vocational training and experienceAbility to follow electrical code manuals to install and repair electrical systemsMust be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail and demonstrate problem-solving skillsMust be able to pass post-offer pre-employment drug screen, and may be required to satisfactorily complete additional background checks as required (i.e. DMV, criminal history)Must adhere to all company policy and proceduresMust be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assignedWork Environment :
