2nd Shift Forklift Operator

American Wood Fibers (AWF) is a manufacturer of both consumer and industrial products that are sold to multiple manufacturers as well as pet, agricultural, and home-heating markets. AWF is comprised of 450 employees and holds operations at 11 locations, generating over $100M in annual sales revenue. We are currently seeking a candidate for the Forklift Operator role in our Circleville, OH facility.

JOB SUMMARY

The Forklift Operator will work in a safe and efficient manner to maximize production, packaging, and shipping of various packaged goods.

PRODUCTION

• Operate packaging equipment in a safe and efficient manner, preparing packaged materials for AWF customers. Must be able to climb ladders and work on elevated work platforms
• Operate forklift trucks in a safe and efficient manner. Responsible for making sure trucks are loaded and unloaded in an orderly sequence with an emphasis on eliminating equipment and product damage. Responsible for accurate record-keeping in moving material into and out of inventory and paperwork for shipping
• Prepare packaged wood flour as per the SOP. Utilizing the equipment as intended and operating it in a safe and efficient manner
• Assist with keeping plant organized and clean every day. Work station cleanup is required daily and during production runs if needed

QUALITY

• Maintain and verify that all current quality assurance measures are being followed and communicated to supervisors, production employees, office personnel, and customers. Assist in the implementation of new procedures as needed.

SAFETY

• Operate equipment as per the SOP, following directions as provided
• Keep work area clean and organized
• Utilize all of the required PPE as required by the task being performed
• Help keep others safe in the workplace by looking out for them and participating in safety-related improvements

PLANT CLEANING FUNCTION

• Must be able to use various cleaning tools – brooms, shovels, and cleaning wands. Must be able to work in a dusty environment. May be required to wear a dust mask, PAPR, or other PPE as required by the task. May be required to operate wheel loaders, assisting in clean-up duties

OTHER ACTIVITIES

• Be available to work on any assigned shift including scheduled overtime (includes Sunday)
• Establish personal growth and work with fellow employees toward continuous improvement and teamwork

QUALIFICATIONS

• 1 Year experience in a manufacturing facility/warehouse
• Driver’s License REQUIRED
• 1 Year Forklift experience PREFERRED
• Must be detail-oriented
