Business Development Coordinator (PORCH INC) (2025)

PORCH Communities' mission is to mobilize and support local volunteers to create sustainable hunger relief programs. [For more information, visit our website: porchcommunities.org] The proposed VISTA project aligns with the AmeriCorps Healthy Future focus area. The VISTA project will seek to (1) increase the number of licensed NC PORCH chapters from 13 to 20 in 2023-2024, (2) increase the number of NC volunteers from 1,300 to 1,500 in 2023-2024, (3) increase the number of NC counties served from 8 to 10 in 2023-2024, and (4) establish the foundation and processes to expand into South Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia in the next 2-3 years. The VISTA project expects to benefit 12,000 individuals in 9 NC counties by providing over 1,000,000 meals in 2023-2024. In this role, you will enhance and develop strategies for increased neighborhood leader engagement and onboard new neighborhoods plus identify areas of improvement. The ideal candidate will have terrific research skills and possess strong analytical abilities. This position is for self-directed individuals looking to make a high impact and create a meaningful difference in the fight against hunger. This role is one of 3 VISTA positions with the PORCH INC hunger relief VISTA project. This role involves full-time teleservice and will interface regularly with key board members throughout their tenure; including weekly check-ins. During the service term, VISTA members must live with the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill commuting area.

Member Duties : 1. Conduct in-depth interviews of PORCH Community leadership and neighborhood leads to gain a comprehensive understanding of PORCH's mission, values, and operations, with a particular focus on its grassroots hunger relief model. 2. Pilot the new neighborhood growth plan. Research potential areas for new PORCH neighborhoods. Utilize the selection criteria scorecard to prioritize the opportunities. Recruit and select 1 new neighborhood. 3. Adjust the plan, as appropriate and recruit & select additional new neighborhoods. Evaluate and adjust the new neighborhood growth plan based upon the pilot experience. Research potential areas for new PORCH neighborhoods. Utilize the selection criteria scorecard to prioritize the opportunities. Recruit and select 5 new neighborhoods.
