What are the responsibilities and job description for the Indy AfterSchool Corps Summer Enrichment Coordinator position at AmeriCorps?
Indy AfterSchool Corps Enrichment Coordinators serve at community-based service locations in neighborhoods of high poverty. Responsibilities include providing education and career development programs to youth, ages 5 – 18 years; implementing daily activities including: mentoring, conflict resolution, health and safety, enrichment, food programs, field trips, clubs…etc.; recruitment and support of additional volunteers at sites to build organizational capacity; and spreading the AmeriCorps vision and visibility within the service site community. This position serves youth mainly during summer programming. Training will take place the first 3 weeks & last 2 weeks (about 20-25 hours per week) of the service term. Members will serve full time hours (35-40 hours per week) during the middle 7 weeks (youth program dates June 2-July 18) of their term. Members serve hours mainly Monday-Friday at one of the Boys & Girls Clubs service sites in the Indianapolis area.
