We are seeking a Freight Coordinator to join AmeriQual freight division! In this role, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating our transportation operations. Key responsibilities include managing budgets, negotiating freight rates, evaluating carrier performance, and resolving transportation challenges—all while ensuring regulatory compliance and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize industry and market knowledge to successfully negotiate pricing agreements with carriers to maximize profitability and ensure adequate capacity levels
- Create loads, set appointments, dispatches, track and trace loads, root cause, problem solving, and resolve/communicates to carrier and/or customer as appropriate
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with a high volume of calls/ emails
- Ensure compliance with all applicable freight laws and regulations
- Perform data entry tasks to accurately record shipment details and maintain up-to-date records
- Observe and understand fluctuating rate markets/trends and quickly adapt to new situations
- Maintain strong relationships with multiple carriers
- Work with management, customers, and vendors to resolve any transportation issues
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in business or related field preferred.
- 2 years’ Logistics experience in a manufacturing setting
- In-depth knowledge of ERP shipping and receiving
- Outstanding analytical and statistical technical skills
- Must exhibit a strong degree of professionalism and excellent communication skills
- Highly organized and process-oriented with an ability to multitask and excel in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
- Advanced computer proficiency, specifically MS Office Excel, and Word.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, anticipate changing project needs, and meet deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.05 - $20.04 per hour
