What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at AMGL, P.C.?
Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to accounting principles.
- Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on the general ledger.
- Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations.
- Assist with analyzing client financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances.
- Preparation of client payroll and payroll tax reports.
- Utilizing QuickBooks software to maintain client general ledgers.
- Assisting with field work on governmental, not-for-profit, and nursing home audits and Directors Exams.
- Assist staff accountants on standard procedures performed on an audit.
- Prepare individual and business tax returns following reporting requirements.
- Conduct tax research to further the accountant’s knowledge of complex reporting issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting
- Strong understanding of accounting theory
- 3 years accounting/finance experience; CPA a plus, but not required
- Highly detail oriented and organized in work
- Ability to meet assigned deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
- Ability to work independently with minimal daily direction from supervisor to accomplish objectives
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as QuickBooks
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
