The firm ranks as one of the largest in the state, serving over 3,400 clients across the United States. Our staff are highly skilled tax, auditing, financial, and computer professionals who have a personal stake in the successful future of Grand Island.
Assistant Accountant / Payroll Specialist
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Knowledgeable in basic accounting concepts
- Be aware of and comply with pronouncements of professional and other regulatory groups
- Report directly to the assigned Supervisor
- Maintain and reconcile client’s monthly books and insure proper recording of entries
- Prepare simple financial statements in identified format
- Reconcile bank accounts and trace discrepancies
- Prepare correspondence as needed to interested parties
- Prepare payroll for clients and payroll related tax reporting
- Prepare sales and use tax reports, as well as occupation tax reports
- Prepare and/or update depreciation schedules
- Attain on-going professional continuing education
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- A Bachelor’s/Associate’s degree in accounting or equivalent work experience
- Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data
- Must be skilled in the use of QuickBooks
- Must be highly skilled in use of Excel Spreadsheets
- Must be skilled in use of MS Word
- Must have very good verbal skills
- Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines occur.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
