Job Title: Assistant Superintendent of Amherst, Pelham, and Amherst-Pelham Regional Public School Districts (ARPS)

Position Summary:
The Assistant Superintendent of ARPS is a dynamic student-centered and visionary leader who supports the Superintendent in advancing the district’s mission and priorities. This position requires a strong focus on fiscal responsibility, trauma-informed practices, building relationships, special education expertise, instructional leadership, and family engagement. The Assistant Superintendent must also serve as a change-agent, fostering innovation and a student-centered approach throughout the district.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Administration
- Assist the Superintendent in overseeing the district's educational programs, ensuring alignment with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the district's educational goals.
- Supervise and evaluate administrative personnel, including Curriculum Coordinators and Directors.
- Serve as Acting Superintendent in the absence of the Superintendent.
- Curriculum and Instruction
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of K-12 curricula, ensuring alignment with state standards and district objectives.
- Provide leadership in instructional improvement, integrating innovative teaching methods and technologies.
- Coordinate professional development programs to enhance instructional practices.
- Monitor and assess student performance data to inform instructional strategies.
- Student Services
- Supervise programs related to student discipline, attendance, and support services.
- Ensure the implementation of trauma-informed practices to support student well-being.
- Oversee special education services, ensuring compliance with regulations and alignment with student needs.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student behavior and school climate.
- Fiscal Management
- Assist in the development and management of the district's budget, ensuring alignment with educational goals and fiscal responsibility.
- Identify and implement cost-effective practices while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide detailed fiscal reports and recommendations to the School Committee and stakeholders.
- Family and Community Engagement
- Develop and implement strategies to strengthen family and community engagement across the district.
- Serve as a liaison to families, ensuring that district initiatives and programs are inclusive, transparent, and responsive to the needs of all stakeholders.
- Build partnerships with community organizations to support student success and enhance district resources.
- Organizational Leadership
- Assist the Superintendent in the development and implementation of the district’s strategic plan, aligning priorities with the mission and goals of ARPS.
- Represent the Superintendent in their absence and act as a spokesperson for the district when needed.
- Support the Superintendent in the recruitment, retention, and development of a diverse and highly qualified workforce.

- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in education, including fiscal management, instructional leadership, and family engagement.
- Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-informed practices, behavior intervention strategies, and special education programming.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and building positive relationships with students, staff, and the community.
Compensation:
Competitive salary and benefits commensurate with experience and qualifications, aligned with ARPS policies.
Salary : $125,000 - $130,000
