Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager / Bookkeeper to support our project management and financial operations. This dual role requires someone with a strong ability to manage multiple tasks, communicate effectively, and contribute to both project oversight and financial processes. The ideal candidate will assist senior project managers while ensuring smooth financial/record-keeping for the organization.
Responsibilities:
Assistant Project Manager Duties:
- Assist in contract management, ensuring all contracts are accurately maintained and updated.
- Organize and manage project folders and files, maintaining an efficient document system.
- Assist in the preparation and completion of closeout documentation for projects.
- Collaborate closely with Senior Project Managers to ensure smooth project execution and address any issues that arise.
Bookkeeper Duties:
- Handle commercial billing applications, ensuring accurate preparation of Schedule of Values (SOV) for billing.
- Utilize QuickBooks to manage financial records and transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with payroll processing and have a strong understanding of labor costs, helping to ensure accuracy in employee pay and project labor expenses.
- Support financial reporting and reconciliation efforts as needed to maintain clear and up-to-date financial records.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in project management support and bookkeeping, with a focus on construction or similar industries preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in both project and financial management.
- Proficient with QuickBooks, especially in managing commercial billing.
- Basic understanding of payroll and labor cost concepts.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in a project management support or bookkeeping role, ideally within a construction or similar industry.
Work Environment:
- Full-time position.
- Located in Bluffton, SC.
