Patient Communication Operator

Position Overview

The patient communications operator serves as a first line of support to our patients, vendors, and community partners. This position's main duties are to answer the incoming calls for practice and schedule/reschedule patient appointments. The patient communications operator provides assistance in a pleasant and efficient manner. The ideal candidate must be customer service oriented and portray patience, understanding, and professionalism.

Job Summary

• Answers all incoming and routes them to the appropriate person or location.
• Phone logs are maintained according to established guidelines.
• Performs light administrative duties.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to plan, organize and establish priorities related to assignment.
• Carry out all job responsibilities and handle sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Work independently and make decisions with minimum supervision.
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma
• Previous experience within a call center and/or switchboard operator within a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Must possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner; must be able to use initiatives and independent judgement within established guidelines.
• Excellent time management skills, the ability to make timely and sound decisions on urgent problems, and the ability to juggle many competing priorities and demands for time. Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
