Barista

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team in creating exceptional coffee experiences for our customers. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of beverages, ensuring high-quality standards while providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced café environment. Your role will contribute to the overall atmosphere of our establishment, making it a welcoming place for all patrons.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a wide range of coffee beverages, teas, and other specialty drinks according to established recipes and customer preferences.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including workstations, equipment, and dining spaces.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process transactions accurately and handle cash management.
• Assist with food preparation as needed, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
• Engage with customers to provide recommendations, answer questions about menu items, and ensure a positive experience.
• Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies; communicate needs to management for restocking.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a smooth workflow during peak hours while upholding quality service standards.

Skills

• Experience in the food industry or food service is preferred; familiarity with café operations is a plus.
• Proficient in food preparation techniques and knowledge of coffee brewing methods.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and managing cash flow effectively.
• Familiarity with Aloha POS or similar systems is advantageous but not required; training will be provided.
• Strong sales skills with the ability to upsell products while providing excellent customer support.
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor to engage effectively with customers and team members.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in beverage preparation.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $9.00 - $12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
