AMSOIL INC. is hiring a Senior Buyer in our Purchasing department. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic purchasing department. In this role you will purchase a diverse range of products carefully chosen to meet company specifications and customer demands. You will help drive decisions on supplier choice and lead sourcing solutions all while optimizing inventory levels and controlling costs. This position reports on-site to the AMSOIL Center located in Superior, Wisconsin.

Core Responsibilities:
- Responsible for acquiring finished products, components, and other materials to ensure inventory needs are met.
- Interact with and manage established suppliers by communicating requirements and ensuring suppliers follow through.
- L ead internal departments in sourcing projects by doing research and making recommendations.
- Manage inventory levels and identify and react to inventory shortages.
- Negotiate prices and control costs through understanding of market dynamics, MOQ’s, freight, and market conditions.
- Use ERP software to determine purchase quantities and timing.
- Participate on project teams on new product launches.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Minimum of 7 years of purchasing experience in a high-volume environment
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical
- Strong negotiating skills
- Ability to work independently
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
- Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed (up to 15%)
- Experience working in manufacturing industry
- Experience with JD Edwards ERP software
