Bioprocess Development Associate III (4128)

This is your chance to further your career by supporting pilot-scale production efforts in our state-of-the-art pilot plant.As a Bioprocess Development Associate III at Amyris, you will support the development and pilot-scale production efforts in our pilot plant. The successful candidate will work closely with members of the pilot plant and process development teams who are responsible for fermentation, downstream recovery and purification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all facility safety protocols and policies to maintain a secure working environment.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot fermentation and purification equipment
• Monitor process parameters, identifying deviations and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Diagnose and resolve process issues, providing technical feedback to enhance operational performance.
• Support technology transfer initiatives, facilitating seamless scale-up from laboratory to pilot plant and potential manufacturing operations.
• Lead pilot plant operations for assigned projects, ensuring smooth execution and alignment with project goals.
• Sample processes and prepare them for routine analysis
• Record and analyze process data, entering findings into designated web applications and databases.
• Utilize basic laboratory techniques, procedures, and assays to support bioprocess development activities.
• Perform clean-in-place (CIP) procedures and set up process equipment, including fermenters, portable tanks, centrifuges, homogenizers, and filtration systems.
• Operate centrifuge systems, Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF), and chromatography systems, ensuring efficient process execution.
• Communicate effectively within a team environment, demonstrating the ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently.
