Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Intake Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing patient intake processes, ensuring smooth operations within our healthcare facility. The Intake Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating patient appointments, verifying insurance information, and providing exceptional service to patients.
Responsibilities
- Manage the intake process for new and returning patients, ensuring all necessary information is collected accurately.
- Schedule and manage patient appointments , including cancelations and reschedules.
- Mange client wait list and referrals for services.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits for patients prior to appointments.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record system.
- Provide administrative support including answering phone calls, responding to inquiries, and assisting with office management tasks.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate effective communication regarding patient needs and scheduling.
- Collaborate with administrative staff to ensure billing is managed effectively between positions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Previous experience in patient service is preferred.
- Proficiency in medical scheduling and insurance verification processes.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with patients and providers.
- Experience in a mental health office setting is advantageous but not required.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work with diverse populations
