What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chef position at Anchuca Historic Mansion & Inn?
The responsibilities of Restaurant Anchuca's chef include managing the kitchen operations, preparing food, and leading the kitchen and dish staff. The chef will also learn our established menu but should be willing to enhance existing items and try new dishes in line with a fine dining restaurant. The chef will be responsible for monitoring food quality, placing food orders, creating a weekly work schedule for kitchen and dish staff, and ensuring compliance with all health, ServSafe, and other food safety requirements.
Kitchen management
- Oversee the preparation of ingredients, including cutting, chopping, and marinating
- Monitor portion sizes and plate presentations
- Manage other members of the food preparation team and ensure a positive, productive, and respectful work environment is maintained
- Adjust orders to meet guests' requests
Food preparation
Study recipes, Set up menus, Prepare high-quality dishes, Cook and season a variety of dishes, and Prepare special menus for casual and fine dining events.
- Delegate tasks to kitchen staff
- Supervise cooks and assist as needed
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
Other responsibilities
- Monitor food stock and place orders
- Keep up with cooking trends and best practices
- Be familiar with sanitation regulations
- Thrive in a high-pressure and fast-paced culinary environment
- Actively pursue continuing education efforts by learning from industry experts
