**Responsibilities:**
As an Accountant with Commercial and Government Experience, you will be a key player in managing financial activities across projects and contracts. Key responsibilities include:
- Execute financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for projects and initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with governmental regulations, policies, and industry-specific accounting standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with government guidelines.
- Prepare and submit timely and accurate financial reports for both commercial and regulatory purposes.
Major Responsibilities
- Ability to perform full lifecycle accounting (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll)
- Prepares reconciliations and evaluates general ledger accounts to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information.
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Develops and implement processes for capturing, recording and summarizing financial/cost transactions to comply with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and supplemental regulations as necessary
- Preparation of annual budgets
**Qualifications:**
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Familiar with Defense Contracting Audit Agency models and guidelines
- Proven experience in commercial (required) and government (preferred) accounting, demonstrating adaptability and a deep understanding of industry-specific regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Federal government contracting experience
- Experience with Indirect Rates and Cost Pools
- Assisting with the preparation of Incurred Cost Submissions and Indirect Cost Rate Models
- Previous non-profit work experience
