Position Overview:
The Manager of Benefits and Compensation will be responsible for the design, implementation, and administration of compensation and benefits programs. This role ensures that programs align with organizational values, attract and retain top talent, and support employee well-being. The Manager will work closely with leadership to optimize health plans, retirement benefits, compensation structures, and wellness initiatives while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Compensation:
- Develop and manage the organization's compensation structure, including salary bands, job evaluations, and market analysis.
- Conduct salary benchmarking and analysis to ensure competitive pay practices within the nonprofit sector.
- Collaborate with leadership to provide compensation recommendations for new hires, promotions, and adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
Benefits Administration:
- Oversee all employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and leave policies.
- Evaluate and negotiate benefits plans to ensure cost-effectiveness and alignment with employee needs.
- Educate employees on benefit options and provide guidance on enrollment and utilization.
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, FMLA, COBRA, and other regulatory requirements.
HR Strategy & Compliance:
- Partner with HR leadership to develop and implement total rewards strategies that support employee engagement and retention.
- Analyze compensation and benefits trends to recommend improvements and best practices.
- Maintain and update compensation and benefits policies, ensuring transparency and fairness.
- Manage relationships with benefits vendors and third-party administrators.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8 years of experience in compensation and benefits management, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
- Experience with benefits administration, including health plans, retirement plans, and leave policies.
- Familiarity with federal and state employment laws related to compensation and benefits.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across all levels of the organization.
- HR certifications (PHR, SHRM-CP, CCP, CEBS) are a plus.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
