Job Summary:
- Primarily responsible for effectively leading the accounting and payroll team and processes.
- Lead initiatives to better optimize related finance and reporting processes. The position will also assist on numerous ad hoc and strategic opportunities and challenges to grow the business and manage risk.
- Manage financial accounting functions, provide organizational & administrative support for the financial operations of the company.
- Help coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and the financial planning process.
- Drive optimization opportunities via increased utilization of the core accounting systems through collaboration with IT team and/or 3rd party implementation partners.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the day-to-day financial and accounting operations of the organization and its multiple subsidiaries including managing books, payables, receivables, and vendor relationships.
- Creates and maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
- Guiding financial decisions by developing and monitoring policies and procedures. Evaluating and enhancing financial controls and procedures.
- Monitoring closing processes, billing, invoicing, expenses, reimbursements, and payroll administration including reviewing journal entries and account reconciliation.
- Overseeing financial and accounting staff and analyzing profit center performance metrics.
- Partners with the outside accounting firm to ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial requirements and assists auditors, gathering and providing information and documents needed for inquiries from corporate partners.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to ensure the accurate flow of data from operations to financial ledgers.
- Responsibility for technical accounting research and interpretations to ensure financial compliance, department systems, policies, practices, and procedures.
- Jointly with sponsor fund administrators, drive the preparation of monthly and quarterly accounting and valuation. reporting, quarterly valuation reporting capital, account statements, portfolio company summary reports and tax returns
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA highly desired. 6 years of experience, experience in financial capacity within a Private Equity, Family office or Venture Capital firm.
- Comprehensive and current understanding of US GAAP, including recently issued accounting pronouncements, and SEC reporting principles and regulations.
- Able to work well in a dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, work autonomously and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience working through ambiguity to communicate clear accounting positions and operational solutions.
- Excellent knowledge of SAP Business One, the company will expect you to lead them into the next phase of accounting software implementation.
- Excellent knowledge of invoicing, ledgering, managing cash-flow and other accounting disciplines.
- High degree of personal integrity and professionalism, exhibiting self-motivation, persistence, and dependability. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Salary : $120,000 - $160,000
