Who are we looking for?
As a Controller, you will oversee all of the daily accounting and finance activities of the company. The Controller will report to the Chief Financial Officer. A normal day in the life of our Controller would involve reviewing bank receipts and disbursements to ensure authorization and proper posting to the General Ledger, undertaking collections and bill pay activities, preparing ad hoc reports as needed, and collaborating across our functional teams to ensure that all stakeholders have accurate financial data to assist in their decision-making process. In addition, this position will work hand in hand with the CFO to develop, implement, and maintain automations and other tools to make financial systems scalable with our rapid growth.
*This position will primarily work in a remote setting. Training and occasional meetings will take place in Orlando, Florida.
What are the Controller’s responsibilities?
Accounts Receivable
- Assist the CFO with customer billing by generating and sending monthly invoices to customers.
- Monitor Accounts Receivable for past due accounts and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization in contacting and collecting past due balances from customers.
Accounts Payable
- Retrieve and enter vendor bills to QuickBooks.
- Monitor Accounts Payable and ensure that all vendor payments are issued on time and any relevant vendor reporting is completed and distributed.
Company Travel & Expenses
- Handle all company travel requests in collaboration with the CFO to ensure that travel expenses comply with the company Travel & Expense policy.
- Review submitted expenses for compliance with policy and tactfully research out of policy issues with relevant stakeholders.
- Send periodic reminders to staff to ensure timely submission of expense reports and claims.
Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Gather and submit payroll changes including commissions, bonuses, and expense reimbursements to the payroll provider ensuring approvals and compliance with policies.
- Review payroll previews for accuracy, work with payroll provider to make adjustments as needed, to ensure payroll accuracy.
- Perform monthly audit of benefits plan billings to ensure billing accuracy and payroll deduction accuracy.
- Assist CFO and HR Consultant with Benefits updates with carriers as needed.
Monthly Closing Process
- Collaborate with the CFO on all monthly closing processes including, but not limited to:
o Invoicing and Revenue Recognition activities
o Royalty calculations and other Cost of Goods Sold activities
o Trending and scrubbing General & Administrative accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
o Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and preparation of supporting schedules
o Assist the CFO with Financial Statement compilation
- Preparation of various operational and financial analysis reports for the monthly reporting package with a specific eye towards identifying both problems and opportunities from the finance perspective.
What qualifications do you need to be a successful Controller?
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, MBA a plus.
· Extensive experience with the QuickBooks Online.
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills to include Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and other advanced functionality.
· Proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Zoom, Slack, and Gmail.
· Minimum 5 years’ work experience in a managerial level accounting position. This could be a great opportunity for your first Controller role.
· Knowledge of digital advertising solutions, technologies, and market trends is a plus.
· High level of initiative to start and complete projects, but also to find new opportunities for more efficient operations at all levels.

The compensation range for this role will begin at $90,000. Base salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, and market demand.
