Essential Job Functions
- Warmly greets patients, family members and visitors
- Secures patient information by completing and safeguarding medical records, keeping patient information confidential
- Provides positive customer service
- Schedule’s procedures and office visits by planning with offices; verifying times; preparing charts, pre-arrival and consent forms
- Answers the phone in a courteous and professional manner
- Up front collections during check-in or check-out process
- Performs insurance verification and or authorizations
- Responsible for updating and maintaining correct patient demographic information
- Maintains an open referral pathway for referring physicians and patients to ensure timely scheduling
- Provides patients with the necessary documents for their appointments
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
- Other duties as assigned
Job Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- High school diploma required
- College level degree preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Time management and organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to make quality, independent decisions
- Effective problem-solving ability
- Knowledge in healthcare field
Physical Demands:
- Independently mobile to perform tasks
- Ability to be seated for up to 8 hours per shift
- Ability to push, pull or lift, up to 60 pounds
