What are the responsibilities and job description for the Revenue Recognition Accountant position at Angels of Care Pediatric Home Health?
The Revenue Recognition Accountant plays a pivotal role in ensuring financial accuracy and driving process improvements in a high-growth, dynamic environment. In this role, you will serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership and cross-functional teams, developing an understanding of their priorities, addressing concerns, and facilitating alignment. You will foster engagement and participation across the organization, aligning financial practices with business goals, creating scalable systems, and implementing robust internal controls. Success in this role requires creative problem solving, adaptability, and exceptional communication/presentation skills. This role will report to the VP of Accounting.
In this role, you will:
- Ensure the Company’s balance sheet, income statement and underlying accounts are recorded in accordance with US GAAP.
- Analyze weekly service data to ensure revenue is captured correctly at contractual rates and trends are explainable.
- Collaborate with the Revenue Cycle Management team to optimize cash collections, trends and future collection expectations.
- Triangulate cash waterfalls with actual cash collected and revenue recorded for the applicable service periods and collection periods.
- Analyze cash per hour and revenue per hour trends across different states and service lines and compare to expected results.
- Support month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and cash flow reporting.
- Identify and implement process improvements, ensuring consistent documentation and application of accounting policies.
- Perform financial analysis for multiple revenue scenarios and contract payment structures.
- Collaborate with Operations team, providing actionable recommendations to drive favorable financial outcomes.
- Create compelling financial presentations and deliver data-driven insights through storytelling to inform decision-making.
- Engage in strategy discussions, proactive issue resolution, and negotiations with company executives.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- 5 years finance and/or accounting experience, preferably in healthcare.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
- CPA certification preferred.
Key Skills and Experience
- Expertise in US GAAP compliance (ASC 606 required).
- Prior experience implementing accounting standards in a multi-state, high growth, and/or M&A-oriented organization.
- Proficiency in financial systems and tools, such as Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, KanTime (EMR), and Vena (financial reporting and budgeting).
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Proven ability to present complex financial data in a clear, concise and compelling manner to all levels of leadership.

Compensation
The anticipated compensation range is $90,000 to $110,000.
