Job Description:
The Bar Manager position is responsible for directing and overseeing all bar operations including managing and directing Barbacks and Bartenders and ensuring products and service standards are met. This position is also responsible for implementing and maintaining procedures to maximize operating efficiencies.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and resolve customer complaints promptly.
- Advertise the daily, weekly and monthly promotions of the bar.
- Ensure bar staff follow all food control and safety regulations.
- Create employee schedules based on expected customer numbers.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of beverages to meet set standards.
- Monitor and ensure cleanliness and hygiene of bar area.
- Ensure adherence to cash management procedures.
- Ensure adherence to stock control procedures.
- Monitors and order bar inventory.
- Represents the company as a liaison to suppliers, vendors and sales representatives.
- Ensure all deliveries are checked in correctly and inventory documentation is accurate.
- Check stock is correctly rotated and stored to reduce wastage.
- Organize and adjust staff rotations and schedules in accordance with available resources and labor regulations.
- Maintain regular communication with staff and management through meetings and discussions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- · Assist in recruiting, hiring and training bar staff ·
- Daily supervision of bar staff including communicating company policies, standards and procedures.
- Assists in bar staff annual reviews in conjunction with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager.
- Partners with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager to request and review bar staff disciplinary action as needed.
- Serves as a resource for the bar staff by answering questions, conducting training, preparing educational materials, and mentoring.
- Monitors bar staff assignments, schedules, and completion of job function and ensure coverage.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma preferred or equivalent.
- Minimum age to serve alcohol.
- Experience in cost control procedures.
- Knowledge of Aloha a plus.
- 1-2 years of experience bar management and beverage service operations preferred.
- Complete working knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- 1-2 years of business management principles and practices experience.
- Knowledge of menu items, including beers, wines, cocktails, and liquors.
- Basic math, accounting and computer skills.
- Completion of mixology, barkeeping, or other related training required.
