Animal Emergency Service is looking for an experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join our family !
We are looking for an experienced, professional, compassionate and energetic veterinary receptionist that can maintain composure during stressful situations. All candidates must be available for weekend and holiday shifts and have at least one year experience as a veterinary receptionist.
You will be joining a team of friendly, positive and caring veterinary professionals dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the pets in their care. Overview
-Enthusiasm, communications skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and excellent interpersonal skills a must.
-Basic typing skills, thoroughness and neatness.
-Answering heavy call volume, maintaining client files, communication with our referring veterinarians, generating estimates, collecting payments from clients and basic accounting duties.
-Ability to follow directions with and without supervision and to refer questions and issues to the appropriate personnel
-Keeping all lab work tests and make information that is needed for appointments available to the doctors so that they can relay the information to our clients.
-Keep reception area neat and organized, making sure all forms, paper work files, tags are completed and available
-Collecting fees for services, finalize receipts, and discharging patients.
-Receive all incoming calls, 3 rings or less
-Screen and direct calls to appropriate doctor or staff member.
-Inform clients of credit policies and any outstanding balances due.
-Answer questions regarding the status of hospitalized patients as directed by the attending doctor
-Create estimates for the doctor.
-Dependable attendance is required.
-Any allergies to animals must be controllable through medication.
-Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
-Must be willing to work long or irregular hours under pressure conditions.
-This position requires the ability to walk, bend, stand and reach constantly during a minimum 8 hour day.
-Place follow up courtesy calls for all patients.
